Update account status
You can change an account's status to suspend it, reactivate it, or close it. Use this to freeze an account during a dispute, or to close one a customer no longer needs.
Account statuses
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
active |
the account works normally and can send and receive funds |
frozen |
the account is suspended; transactions are blocked until reactivated |
deleted |
the account is closed and can't be used or changed again |
Update the status
Use the Update account status endpoint. Send the account ID in the path and the new status in the body:
curl --request PATCH \
--url https://api.gravv.xyz/v1/accounts/a4d83e55-435e-41c9-9a0b-dcb99f690c95/status \
--header 'Api-Key: <API_KEY>' \
--header 'content-type: application/json' \
--data '
{
"status": "frozen"
}
'
The response returns the updated account:
{
"data": {
"id": "a4d83e55-435e-41c9-9a0b-dcb99f690c95",
"currency": "USD",
"label": "Jane Doe",
"type": "regular",
"status": "frozen",
"customer_id": "d12ded01-9081-4a3c-a76c-70654f0a0175",
"blockchain_network": "polygon"
},
"error": null
}
To reactivate a frozen account, send the same request with "status": "active".
📘 Before you close an account
Closing an account (
deleted) requires its wallet balance to be zero, so withdraw or transfer any funds first. A deleted account is final and can't be changed again. System-managed accounts, such as fee and auto-sweep accounts, can't have their status changed.
